Rooms for rent for $ 450 to $ 495 per month including utilities and wired and wi-fi DSL in the trendy Westside Waterworks entertainment area just west of Georgia Tech. It is within walking distance of Georgia Tech and just 2 miles north of Georgia State University (ten minutes via bus).

THIS IS PERFECT FOR SUMMER INTERNS - college students, graduate students, professional school students, law students, medical students, international students in Atlanta working in DOWNTOWN, MIDTOWN, or BUCKHEAD for the summer. Our lease are catered to such in that they begin in early May and end in August. We can usually accommodate other short term summer time frames. And of course if you want to live here longer than August that is okay too.

FURNISHED PRIVATE ROOM FOR RENT EARLY MAY.ANOTHER AVAILABLE MID OR LATE MAY AND ANOTHER AVAILABLE JUNE 1, 2008.And probably a couple of others available in May.

See the following article in Air Tran magazine about the Westside Waterworks neighborhood: http://airtranmagazine.com/contents/2007/09/atlanta%E2%80%99s-westside/

The Westside Waterworks area is an eclectic intown area composed of old warehouses (our building is not an old warehouse) which have been renovated into office and residential lofts and restaurants, bars, and interior decorating stores. It's a hot entertainment district. It's compared to New York's meatpacking district which is apt since this indeed, is an old meatpacking district. See www.artery.org. and http://www.artery.org/Directory/Directory.htm It still looks a little sketchy but is not. All the panhandlers and parasites are east of the downtown connector in Midtown proper. This neighborhood of old warehouses converted into antique shops, bars, restaurants, decorating and design shops, and offices is the hottest and coolest area in Atlanta. But it's not for everyone – again, if you like suburbia you won't like this. (Note that a lot of the photographs of the old warehouses on www.artery.org are the "before renovation" photographs. Those buildings are now magnificent."

As an example of how popular this area has become, office space in one of the old renovated warehouses costs as much as Class A space on Peachtree Street.

One bedroom apartment lofts across and a 75 yards down the street start at $ 1,300plus utilities.

For information on the neighborhood please see www.artery.org and http://www.artery.org Among the converted warehouse and meatpacking developments within walking distance are The King Plow Arts Center, http://www.artery.org/KingPlow.htm, Puritan Mill: http://www.puritanmill.com/, http://www.artery.org/PuritanSoapCo.htm, Midtown West, http://www.artery.org/MidtownWest.htm, the White Provision Building, http://www.artery.org/WhiteProvisionCo.htm, http://www.whiteprovision.com, the Means Street Historic District (no web site) – but the web sites of some of themajor anchors are http://www.artery.org/BlockCandy.htm, www.thecontemporary.org, http://www.artery.org/Nexus.htm, http://www.artery.org/AtlantaBuggyCo.htm, and the Westside Urban Market http://www.westsideurbanmarket.com/.

Within walking distance in this eclectic urban entertainment district are several establishments which have been voted "BEST OF ATLANTA" by Creative Loafing, Atlanta magazine, Atlanta Constitution, Jezebel or other publications. Among these are Octane (best coffee house), Bachannalia (overall best restaurant and considered by some to be the best restaurant in the Southeast, Compound (best nightclub), Tacquaria Del Sol (best Southwestern and tapas cuisine), Northside Tavern (Best Blues venue), Figo (best informal Italian), West Egg (best cupcakes and weekend brunch), Slice Pizza (best Pizza), Chow Baby (best stir fried cuisine and best place for a first date), Six Feet Under (best seafood pub - and my vote for best view of the Atlanta skyline), Carver's (best Southern cooking), Food Studio (top ten restaurants in town), Rocky Mountain Pizza (my personal "best of Atlanta" for cheap beer). Please Google some of the above and see for yourself. The Five Seasons Brewpub is opening its second location two blocks away.(The first was voted “Best Brewpub.”)

This is an art studio, and decorating and design area. Many of the decorating and design shops have been acclaimed as "Best of Atlanta" but I don't track those. I do know a throw pillow for your couch can be gotten in the neighborhood from anywhere from $ 2 to $ 750. My point is that it is a great area in which to live. But it is not suburbia - and it does not have immaculate lawns and grounds. It is a warehouse district and looks like an urban eclectic warehouse district because that is what it is. If you like suburbia you won't like this and don't waste your time.

Great for students - walk to Georgia Tech and just 2 miles north of Georgia State University (a ten minute bus ride). The bus stop is right outside the buiding.
