An Account Director is responsible for one or multiple client relationships on a day-to-day basis, based on a full understanding of both the client and AKQA's business objectives and goals. He or she will assure the agency's full resources are marshaled and effectively applied appropriately to each account they direct. The Account Director takes a leadership role in setting high standards for development of all communications and marketing activities on accounts he or she oversees, as well as continually evaluating and optimizing account management performance. The Account Director ensures agency functions are performed on a profitable basis.

Responsibilities:

  • 6+ years Agency experience
  • 2+ years experience as an Account Director working with large companies or organizations.
  • Experience in working with video gaming brands a big plus
  • Demonstrated interactive/digital experience required
  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills managing other account staff
  • Strategic understanding of all disciplines of marketing
  • Strong understanding of web/gaming technologies required, hands on experience a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and grow a close working relationship with one or more clients.
  • Provide strategic direction for accounts directed.
  • Work with all departments in the development of strategically sound marketing communications plans.
  • Oversee all stages of project planning, executions and deployment to ensure highest level of quality is met.
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and profitable project estimates followed by accurate and timely client billing and bill payments.
  • Responsible for the management and growth of more junior account people via mentoring and career development.
Leadership/Mentoring: The Account Director must demonstrate the following skills or abilities:

  • Able to motivate and inspire others to generate imaginative, innovative work and solutions.
  • Oversee workflow and progress of assigned teams.
  • Delegate tasks and give direction and suggestions when necessary.
  • Act as a sounding board for ideas.
  • Build trust from both client and internal staff to keep communication channels open.
