The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Art Duties: The primary functions of the Airport Art Program that this position will support include: a. Programs designed to enhance the passenger’s experience of Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and support the Department of Aviation’s mission “To Be the World’s Best Airport by Exceeding Customer Satisfaction”; b. Identify sites or opportunities where art and artists may be incorporated; c. Manage and coordinate the commissioning of site-specific artworks on a day-to-day basis; d. Schedule site and artist studio visits; e. Manage and enhance the rotating exhibitions for the Youth Art Galleries; f. Manage and enhance the rotating exhibitions for the Atrium Gallery; g. Manage and enhance the rotating exhibition program for the airport’s many display cases/spaces; h. Manage and enhance the performing arts program including the five music festivals; i. Maintain an inventory of the airport’s art collection; j. Interface with local, state and national arts organizations, galleries and private collectors for the purpose of procuring art and artifacts for rotating exhibitions in the airport’s various display case areas; k. Develop artist contracts and loan agreements; l. Develop and disseminate Request for Qualifications or Proposals and Call for Artists; m. Survey all airport artworks to identify those requiring special maintenance, restoration and conservation and arrange for the necessary maintenance services on an annual basis. n. Serve as the liaison between the artists, city agencies, project architect, engineers, construction manager and contractors; o. Act as a liaison to other city agencies, county, and state arts programs as necessary; p. Track eligible Percent-for-Art monies and projects to ensure that the Department of Aviation allocates funds to the appropriate account for use; q. Plan and organize receptions and dedications for art projects when appropriate; r. Develop and disseminate material to promote Airport Art projects and artist commissions. After projects are completed and installed, the Art Program Manager(s) will coordinate with the Marketing and PR division to develop a media release. In the event that a dedication is desired, the Art Program along with Marketing and PR will develop a program for the dedication.
