The Evaluation and Surveillance Branch of the Division of Diabetes Translation, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (NCCDPHP) needs a data analyst to assist with statistical analysis of large data sets, including National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) and the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The Analyst will be responsible for programming, merging, sub-setting and manipulating the data sets using specific criteria and procedures already developed by DDT and by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). The Analyst will perform specific SAS analysis as requested and prepare specific reports requested by DDT.
Specific tasks assigned will include: (1) combine, clean and document 2 datasets for use by ESB staff, and (2) edit data sets as required by Epidemiologists.



Qualifications: Required Skills: Proficient knowledge of SAS Experience working with large data sets Ability to periodically update database with minimal supervision Ability to conduct statistical analyses at direction of scientific staff Educational Requirements: • MS/MA required, PhD desired, [Major: Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science]
Preferred skills: Min 1-2 yrs exp in Diabetes or other related diseases, and Epidemiologist
