This is a new website! We are a group of artists that have joined together to do co-op advertising in national publications and sell our art on-line and at shows. You do not have to be a folk artist or consider yourself a folk artist. Most artists on the site are formally trained artists. Our group was formed to reduce fees and time that it takes to market ones self or show independently while retaining their own brand identity. This is a juried web site. The basic criteria is that your work is original, hand-made items. Artist must be invited to join or have their application accepted. No craft items, no kit-made items, no candles, soap, beauty and bath products, no food related items, Jewelers are accepted but only if all aspects of their work are hand-made. To become a member, send us a link to your work or email (3) samples to jury@folkartandfriends.com, and we will be happy to answer your questions and get you on-line with the rest of our great artists. _____________All the Details__________________________ Folk Art and Friends (folkartandfriends.com) What you get: • Web page with e-commerce feature - 10 images and or up to 30 items - Artist Branded page, photo, bio and logo - Links buttons to, your web site, blog, e-bay, e-mail, Etsy and wholesale opportunity • Advertising in National publications - Traffic driven to out site by print advertising, first ad to appear in Romantic Homes in March, 2008 - Subsequent ads will be added as more artists join to include: Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion, Country Living, Country Home, Victoria, Martha Stewart Living • Public relations and press releases - Press releases to national publications and local newspapers - Done by a dedicated Folk Art and Friends member • Postcards (quality, four-color on heavy stock) - Reduced bulk-rate on group mailings - Personalize-able and customizable cards postcards • Group show opportunities - Illinois artists will seek out the best of Midwest show opportunities and use the leverage of the group to always have a double or triple booth, with as much or as little involvement as you wish, from boutique style (send in your work) to sitting the show. - Show mailings prior to each show with a customized show post card - Each artist retains their own branding with with in the booth.
