•5+ years of recent daily hands-on support and administration of Veritas Netbackup in large enterprise environment (500+ clients and multiple master servers, media servers and tape libraries). Must have 5 or more years of recent experience performing the following tasks independent of vendor and/or peer assistance:
oDaily troubleshooting and resolution of backup failures
oCreation of server based backup policies with multiplexing
oRecovery of Netbackup Catalog for Disaster Recovery purposes
oMust be most recently experienced with Veritas Netbackup 6.0 or 6.5
oProven success upgrading Veritas Netbackup clients and servers in equivalent large enterprise environment
oTuning Veritas Netbackup to gain maximum performance of tape drives and maximum throughput of servers
oAbility and proven experience writing and maintaining scripts to perform Netbackup functions utilizing command line interface
oMust have experience architecting, recommending and implementing an enterprise wideVeritas Netbackup infrastructure including Solaris and Windows clients, master and media servers and tape libraries that successfully meet the requirements of given backup windows
oReplace tape drives and troubleshoot and resolve tape issues
EMC DMX/Symmetrix Storage Administration
•5+ years of recent daily hands-on support and administration of EMC DMX Storage in large 24/7 production datacenter environment. Must be able to perform the following tasks independent of vendor and/or peer assistance:
oCreate, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve scripts that perform BCV split, establish and mount functions
oSetup both clone and snapshot functions of host data
oConfigure, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve SRDF synchronization both unidirectional and bidirectional
oIdentify and reclaim unused storage
oCreate meta devices
oMap, mask, zone and present DMX storage to hosts
oInstall and push master and host agents respectively
oArchitect, design and implement DMX Storage Frames and fabrics
Sun Servers
•7+ years of recent daily hands-on support and administration of Sun Servers, Solaris, Sun Clustering, Veritas Volume Manager and File System, and Solstice DiskSuite in large 24/7 production datacenter environment. Must be able to perform the following tasks independent of vendor and/or peer assistance:
oImplement Sunfire, Enterprise and Coolthread servers out of the box through production delivery to the business
oConfigure mirrored boot disks with SDS
oCreate, present, grow, and troubleshoot volumes and file systems with Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas FileSystem
oUtilize Veritas VxVM and VxFS command line interface
oUtilize Sun Cluster to create clusters, insert and remove nodes
oPerform successful failovers utilize SCS
oKeep Solaris current and with Solaris 8 and above
oCreate, maintain, troubleshoot and resolve scripts for automation
oBourne, Korn, C shell scripting
oTroubleshoot and replace any component of Sunfire, Enterprise or Coolthread server
oInstall, configure, troubleshoot and maintain EMC Powerpath and HBAs
Soft Skills
•Must be able to create a project plan utilizing Microsoft Project
•Must be able to create and present presentations to all levels
•Must be able to articulate in writing for internal processes and communications
•Must be able to communicate effectively with peers, customers, management and vendors
•Must be able to work with little or no management intervention
•Must be able to provide 24/7 365 rotating on-call support
•Must be able to perform physical work in unloading, unboxing, and install servers
