SOUTHERN RESEARCH INSTITUTE is seeking outstanding applicants for a senior staff position in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department, which is part of our Drug Discovery Division. The Division uses an interdisciplinary approach to translate basic research into FDA-approved drugs. We are particularly interested in attracting a scientist with an outstanding research program in bacteriology with translational potential toward the identification or characterization of therapeutic targets. Candidates with an interest in collaboration with medicinal chemists and our high-throughput screening center are particularly encouraged to apply. To be considered, applicants must possess a Ph.D. in microbiology, or related discipline and postdoctoral experience. The successful candidate will be expected to obtain grant-based funding for their research investigations. Transitional funding and technical support will be available for new investigators. Senior investigators with a track record of research support are also encouraged to apply.
