POSITION SUMMARY

To perform the manufacturing engineering function for special projects, production lines, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications, safety requirements and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to processes, methods and controls and product design. Ensures safe working practices are designed into all processes. Interacts with all levels of the organization as a team to produce and be accountable for desired results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
•Performs product/process analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency.
•Leads all changes building in long term safe working practices.
•Develops, implements and documents effective cost reductions on time.
•Specifies and executes machine purchases including verification of machine quality, performance and effect on process.
•Interacts effectively with all levels of the organization, frequently participating on or leading cross functional teams.
•Communicates design changes to Engineering and Manufacturing.
•Works within design procedures of ISO and Quality Systems.
•Participates in customer project reviews.
•Maintains project status reports for scheduling.
•Assures adherence to standard manufacturing practices.
•Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
•Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and envi ron mental policies.
•Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Description

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
1.This position requires a Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or engineering degree.
2.Minimum 3 years related work experience; experience in the automotive industry or in a global manufacturing company preferred.
3.Must have good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
4.Professional verbal and written communication skills essential.
5.Proficient with Microsoft office products — Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Knowledge of project tracking software a plus.
6.Must have strong, demonstrated technical skills and experience; assembly experience a plus.
7.Medium to high level of understanding of machine design, metal cutting and tool requirements.
8.Understanding of standards and cost estimation
