Position Overview:
This position manages the development, prioritization, and implementation of the Lithonia Plant's capital expenditure program. Designs/specifies equipment, manufacturing processes, and facility infrastructure needed to improve the plant's productivity; gathers bids and quotes; generates EA's and manages installation and start of up equipment. Also actively participates in the design and implementation of various engineering projects at other GLUS facilities. It is anticipated that this aspect of the position will continue to grow while the direct supervision of the Maintenance group will be reduced. Manages the Maintenance department to ensure that plant equipment is maintained in a ready state for the Production departments to minimize downtime and maximize plant productivity. Responsible for budget oversight of Maintenance department to insure that repair dollars are being spent wisely and that overall spending stays in control.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Engineering - Evaluates current equipment and process capability, develops new equipment design specifications, work flow design, and production line layouts. Researches and writes capital project proposals and then manages project execution within scope to accomplish all improvements outlined in the approved EA. Works with managers/engineering resources at other GLUS locations to develop and implement significant cost savings/productivity projects to improve the manufacturing efficiency of the overall GLUS business.

Engineering Manager - Manages the capital expenditure program for the Lithonia facility. Solicits in-house input and feedback and coordinates outside engineering resources as needed to maintain plant operations and support capital improvements. Responsible for compliance to applicable local and federal regulations regarding equipment, the facility, and its operation.

Maintenance - Manages the activities of the Maintenance Supervisor, Controls Specialist, and Maintenance Procurement Analyst to insure maximum uptime and efficiency of production equipment and plant infrastructure.

Requirements:
A four-year engineering degree is required for the position.

Minimum 5 -10 years maintenance and engineering experience in industrial plant setting is also required.

Experience in a food processing and packaging is extremely valuable and preferred. This is a fairly specialized industry and it takes quite a while to become knowledgeable with the various technologies required to effectively run a food manufacturing facility.
