Our Atlanta Client is looking for a Direct Hire Portfolio Analyst
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze the financial performance of assigned borrowers compared to industry standards, key competitors, borrower’s financial projections, and borrower’s past performance.
Perform sensitivity analysis on client’s financial and availability/borrowing base projections as identified by department management.
Maintain awareness of economic conditions in various regions and specific industries.This includes general research of industries, technological developments, governmental regulations, competitors, and overall economic concerns.
Perform a daily review of key periodicals (Forbes, Secured Lender, Business Week, etc.) and newspapers (Wall Street Journal, New York Times, etc) and disseminate relevant articles to the appropriate parties within the department.
Participate with the respective Account Executive and Loan Portfolio Manager in select client meetings for which in-depth financial analysis has been performed or may need to be performed.
Coordinate research projects with counterparts in other regions to minimize duplication of effort between analysts.
Account Management
Working in coordination with the Account Executive, the analyst’s account management responsibilities will include
Participation in trend card meetings, for all teams, providing input on noteworthy financial trends or industry developments in coordination with the Account Executives.Frequency of participation will be determined by the Regional Credit Manager.
Provide support to Account Executives in their efforts to acquire, analyze, underwrite, and disseminate information required for significant client loan restructurings.
Provide support as necessary to the Account Executives and Account Analysts to ensure the smooth operations of this department including participation in initial client visit, initial funding audits, and account set-up.
Ensure that all new client financial data is properly set-up and populated by the Account Analysts in company proprietary financial analysis software program.
Maintain continuing close watch for deterioration in select borrowers’ enterprise value and financial condition.
Identifying problem situations and bringing them to the attention of the Account Executives.
Assist in the preparation of this department for periodic examinations by external auditors
Actively coordinate and participate in special projects as requested by the Regional Credit Manager.
Summary of Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics.
Candidate must have excellent communication skills (verbal and written), be goal/task completion oriented, able to work independently, proficient at financial statement analysis, financial modeling and possess a willingness to learn.
Must have 3+ years of asset based lending, general lending, investment banking, or equivalent experience.
One plus years of internal audit experience preferred.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and the internet required.
Working knowledge of Capital IQ, Microsoft PowerPoint, Stucky NtABL,
