Quality Assurance Engineer
vmSight™is seeking a motivated individual to join an exciting young company as a quality engineer. This is a position for a candidate who has a solid software QA background, preferably with a background in the web application and networking space.This position offers a great opportunity for growth in a leading-edge virtual network intelligence software company. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with some or all of the following:bug tracking software, automated test tools, TCP/IP and networking, network equipment administration.The candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and should enjoy working in a demanding but rewarding environment.QA experience with web application automation, drivers, firewalls and other protocol-based software is highly desirable.
Specific Duties
•Assist in the development of test plans for the company’s products.
•Conduct hands-on testing of exciting new enterprise network products.
•Implement automated testing for key elements of quality assurance.
•Work closely with development leaders and managers to plan releases.
•Participate in the definition of new features and products.
The candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and must be flexible enough to adapt to the changing needs of a small start-up company.
Required Skills
To be effective in this position the candidate must be technically capable of performing assigned duties with limited direction.Specific knowledge and skills required for this position include:
•Bachelors in CS or equivalent work experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of software QA experience
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to quickly break down complex issues.
•Experience with software engineering best practices, including use of version control systems, change and defect tracking tools, and test automation tools.
•Experience in testing systems-level software, such as OS (Windows and Linux) and networking tools, web application automation or VMware virtual infrastructure.
•Experience with network protocols such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, SNMP.The ability to read tcpdump and other network analysis tools is a plus.
•Experience with performance testing tools such as Ixia or Smartbits is a plus.

Additional information
This position is located in Alpharetta, Georgia, and has an immediate start date. It is a full-time or contract position, working a standard daytime shift, although some nights and weekend work may be required.
