Contract job -> Immediate Need in Atlanta Ga for a Quality Engineer. This is a contract position expected to last 3-6 months. For the right candidate it could be temp to hire. Must have a BS in Engineering and 5-10 years experience in quality engineering environment preferred with 3-5 years in a supplier quality engineering role. Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment is highly desirable and Six-Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is considered a plus. The main responsibility for this position is to manage relationships with suppliers. Supplier validation experience is required. Certification by ASQ as a CQE, CQA or CQM is preferred. You will have to provide supplier qualifications, material issue resolution, drive supplier corrective actions, BOM/component validation and maintain approved supplier/parts lists. You will be responsible for driving quality with assigned suppliers and accelerating improvements in supplier quality and delivery of value. In addition you will have to drive supplier selection through qualification process and drive corrective and preventive action program, from initiation to resolution of items and collect and analyze data to track the improvements.
