Native or Novest of the Spanish language?

This email is intended to attract anyone and everyone interested in learning spanish, teaching spanish, speaking spanish or just listening to other people converse in Espanol.

I have started a conversation group. Small as it may be now, I have high hopes for its expansion in Atlanta. Our first official meeting was on 1/15/08 in Midtown where we exchanged background information, assessed our individual levels of Spanish fluency and conversed. There were people at various levels of fluency and we all benefited from it. Our second meeting was on 1/22/08 at which time the group doubled in number. The second meeting consisted of introductions with new group members and the conversation extended to various topics. One of the members took the liberty to bring in exercises for the entire group to view which everyone found most beneficial. In my hopes to use our time more efficiently, meeting will now have themes. The next 3 meetings included pronunciations, introductions with new members, and vocabulary. Our next meeting on 2/19/08 will be about Anatomy.

If you would like to join our group, please join us at our next meeting on 2/19/08. Please keep in mind that this is primarily a conversation group, i.e. the majority of our meets will consist of just conversing in Spanish. So far, everyone is patient, nice and more than willing to help out so please do not be intimidated.

My goal is weekly meetings at a quite common area with occasional visits to Spanish speaking venues (e.g. restaurant) to put our dialogue to the test or a bite to eat, or something. I'm open to ideas.

A little bit of info about me: 26 year old female from California. 3rd year medical student. Moved to ATL 4 months ago for clinical rotations so my schedule during the week is quite chaotic and unpredictable. My hopes are to start a group that will potentially grow into a bigger group of real people with a commanality, amongst other things, of enhancing their fluency in Spanish.

I've asked anyone interested to email me at huny_00@yahoo.com and please provide some background information about yourself.

Looking forward to your replies.

They say practice makes perfect, so come practice with us! Join the group on Myspace athttp://groups.myspace.com/ConverSpanish

Adios.
