Description
Prepares and analyzes financial information to provide accurate and useful information to management for review, reporting and decision making.Position will be responsible for financial operations and reporting for the various business units.
Reports To
Assistant Controller, Finance/Vice President, Finance and Purchasing
Responsibilities
· Maintains the general ledger to include preparation of journal entries, account analysis and reconciliation.
· Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.
· Analyzes monthly fluctuations and provides detail explanations for Actuals results monthly.
· Performs reconciliation of accounts from the general ledger by researching on-line and record sources and preparing “correcting journal entries” as necessary.
· Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports in a timely and accurate manner.
· Perform variance analysis.
· Prepare margin analysis and explanations.
· Completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
· Bank reconciliations.
· Fixed assets.
· Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by senior management.
· Incorporate values and quality systems into all department functions and responsibilities.
Requirements
Relevant Knowledge, skills and competencies
· Bachelor’s degree required, Accounting Degree preferred.
· Three to six years accounting experience required.
· Knowledge of revenue, General Ledger and month-end reporting is required.
· Excel experience required
· Self-starter
· Experience working in a fast paced environment
· Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to maintain priorities and to meet accounting deadlines
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Excellent communication skills.
· Ability to work overtime during book close periods.
Advanced MS Excel is required.
Experience working with FIXED ASSETS is required.
