Permanent Senior Position designing, implementing and supporting data warehousing projects in a Microsoft environment using SQL Server 2005 technologies. Implements business rules via stored procedures, middleware, or other technologies. The Data warehouse specialist defines requirements & interfaces and is responsible for delivering functional specifications as well as responsible for verifying accuracy of data, and the maintenance and support of the data warehouse. The successful candidate should be very familiar with data warehousing standard concepts, structures, practices, and procedures and should rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, the data warehouse specialist performs a variety of tasks with a certain degree of creativity and latitude being required. Strong team work attitude is a necessity.
Typical activities include:
•Develop business requirements for Data Warehouse projects
•Design, implement, maintain SQL 2005 Database and OLAP structures
•Design of Microsoft SSAS Cubes and implement complex business rules using MDX
•Development and rollout of Data loading mechanism (ETL) for the Data Warehouse
Experience Required:
•Dimensional Data modeling and star schema design
OLAP cube development using SSAS
T-SQL code optimization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Analysis and Data Warehouse DB design
Analysis and Design of multidimensional structures
Design and development of ETL processes and procedures using T-SQL, DTS, SSIS, SSAS
Design and develop MDX Queries
•At least 3 years of solid experience in Data warehouse design, development and concepts
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent degree
Experience Desired:
Experience with Microsoft ProClarity tools with installation and good understanding of architecture/environment with strong knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (i.e. SSRS, Office Performance Point)
At least 2 years developing MDX Queries
Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required:
SQL Server 2005: T-SQL, DTS (SQL2000), strong SSIS, strong SSAS, SSRS (optional), confident in MDX
