Reporting to an Accounting Manager within the Corporate Manufacturing Accounting department, this person will supervise a staff of four to five Accounting Clerks. This position will serve as the accounting liaison for the Extrusion Division (12 plants). This position will also become a subject matter expert in the accounting for and analysis of our raw material costs.
Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in accounting with five or more years experience in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrates excellent organizational skills. Must be able to work well with people at all levels within the company. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Skills: Knowledge of cost and general accounting principles, methods, and applications. Ability to effectively communicate accounting information, policies, and procedures in a manner easily understood by others. Ability to work well with a diverse group of people at various levels within and outside the company. Ability to recognize problems and to offer possible solutions. Proficiency with computerized accounting systems and Office Software (Excel a must).
Essential Duties: In addition to contributing to an efficient month end closing process, this position will: 1) Coordinate the accounting for and reporting of operating variances for the specific plants. 2) Manage the accounting for GMC/NPC (a joint venture partner/supplier of raw material). 3) Support the maintenance and calculation of Caprolactam and Resin cost. 4) Develop an understanding and assist in the review of raw material purchases and the calculation of purchase price variances. 5) Contribute to the ongoing reengineering of Corporate Manufacturing Accounting.
