Our well known client is seeking a Slitting Engineer . This position requires a specific type of individual. This position is working in a great environment with outstanding benefits.This position has a very competitive relocation package. The ideal candidate will have:
-Primary responsibility for slitting polymer films and metallic foils, specifically lithium based materials used in the manufacture of lithium-sulfur based batteries. -Knowledge of score cut and shear slitting of malleable materials, differential/duplex winding, atmospheric coating and release coats are desirable. -Works independently to carry out project assignments in slitting process development for lithium sulfur batteries by contributing original ideas to improve the quality and consistency of output. -Coordinates planning, conducts and directs slitting development personnel to perform experiments to test, prove, or modify hypotheses based on personal findings and/or experiences of other research in related areas. - Will supervise daily operations of slitting runs in the dry room including data analysis and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements:
Requirements - Minimum Education/Experience Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Engineering, Physics or related discipline, and at least five (5) years work experience in the field of slitting/rewinding or web handling. -The candidate should have a sound technical background and knowledge of basic chemistry, mechanical engineering, materials science and physics. -Occasional travel for short periods may be necessary. -Preferred Skills Well versed in slitting system design, modification, system maintenance and safety with experience in differential and duplex slitting. -Need to be able to organize, maintain and run a slitting system with emphasis on operating the systems, running experiments, maintenance of equipment and inventory levels. Expertise in web handling highly desired in addition to experience in visual and optical inspection techniques, PLC's, and data acquisition. Must posses the ability to carry out independent data analysis; make observations, reason, draw scientific conclusions and make appropriate recommendations. -Must be computer literate.
