Specifications:
*Interact and analyze the requirements provided by the subject matter experts and business partners and develop a comprehensive logicaland physical model of the database to be implemented on IBM DB2 LUW databases running on AIX
*Develop complex SQL stored procedures, functions and provide the required data interfaces to the application
*Assist in developing complex reporting SQL queries and procedures
*Work with application programmers to develop efficient, flexible and scalable database schemas
*Work with systems DBAs and infrastructure teams and coordinate system and database implementation tasks
*Act as a point of contact providing expertise and advise for database design, implementation, connectivity and SQL1 related questions
Required Skills:
*Minimum 5 years of experience with IBM DB2 UDB V8 (V9) databases
*Ability to work in a heterogeneous environment with Linux, AIX and Windows
*Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modeling concepts
*Experience with data modeling tools like ERwin and ER Studio
*Experience with Quest Central for DB2, Queryman and Query Analyzer
*Strong SQL PL fundamentals and experience in developing complex stored procedures, functions, triggers etc.
*Knowledge of DB2 built-in scalar and table functions, OLAP, common table expressions, admin views and procedures
*Ability to extract, and analyze SQL explain information for dynamic and static SQL
*Ability to identify and resolve database performance and locking issues
*Knowledge of version control and change management procedures and policies
*Ability to write and debug scripts written in shell (ksh, bash) and perl
*Ability to extract and analyze database snapshot and configuration data and identify potential problems
*Ability to work with application developers, architects and subject matter experts to analyze and implement business requirements and resolve issues
*Ability to use DB2 database utilities like reorg, runstats and tools like snapshot and event monitors
*Should possess strong written and verbal skills, ability to work in a team environment and detail oriented
*Ability to interact and coordinate with system and distributed infrastructure teams
Nice to HAVE Skills:
*Experience with other databases like MS SQL Server, Teradata etc.
*Programming experience with Java, C, C++
*IBM Certified DB2 DBA
