POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Management Consultant/Strategic Sourcing Manager to provide strategic sourcing, and category/supplier management services for a range of indirect spending categories (i.e. travel, printing, etc.). Responsibilities include driving savings in various categories as well as managing ongoing supplier relationships.

The Service Area works with senior management to help make major decisions and implement improvements that dramatically increase the performance of our clients' business by focusing on 'executable strategy' and by integrating industry and functional knowledge in corporate strategy, financial management, enterprise cost reduction, customer & market strategy, mergers & acquisitions, technology, supply chain and operations.

Manager will manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large companies. You will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing senior client relationships and leading consultant and client project teams from project planning through execution.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a strategic sourcing manager and management consultant you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for clients by drawing upon your expert knowledge and resources to analyze client contracts and relationships with suppliers. You will understand the internal needs of the client and the external capabilities of potential vendors. You will utilize information to negotiate and implement best practices programs from a total cost and service perspective for clients. The successful candidate will possess detailed knowledge in strategic sourcing, accounts payables, e-procurement, auctions, purchasing cards and supplier management. Project managers must understand accounting principles and business/contract law and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills. They must be able to develop a client needs analysis and design, develop and administer appropriate and advanced vendor acquisition tools (RFQ/ RFP) to meet the client needs. They must also establish competent and agreed upon measurement mechanisms to demonstrate the ongoing success of projects.
