A client of ours located in downtown Atlanta is looking for a Systems/Network Administrator for a full-time permanent role.
Description:
The purpose of this position is to provide additional support capacity and support coverage for the technical environment of the company. The position will cover all technical aspects of the company including the data center and office computing environments. It will provide support to the existing resources and opportunities to enhance the current environment by better leveraging the time of the entire technical staff.
Primary Job Functions
·Assist Senior Systems / Network administrator in supporting and expanding a Linux based data center consisting of 100+ Linux servers·Maintain and enhance a growing Windows NT 4.0 network consisting of approximately 40 Windows workstations and 10 Windows servers
·Perform analysis and suggest network / systems enhancement opportunities
·Stand as an escalation point for our off-shore Operations Monitoring staff
·Assist in the development and maintenance of Systems Monitoring tools
· Perform evaluation of the relationship between our production applications and production hardware to suggest and implement enhancements in resources utilization and software and rights management
· Support of corporate email and remote connectivity
Secondary Job Functions
· Perform Operational Monitoring of production and test environments
· Provide desktop support to office staff
Required Skills:
· Experience and background with variations of Linux/Unix O/S and operating environments
· Experience with Windows networking and Windows O/S computing environments
· Experience with networking and routing of a data center and general office environment
· Shell scripting experience
· Ability to provide 24/7 support as a point of escalation
Other Skills/Abilities
·Programming (perl,Java)
· Systems Monitoring Tools (Nagios, BB, LanDesk)
· Ability to present technical facts and information to a non-technical group
·Any SAN experience is preferable as the candidate will “own” the SAN implementation planned for this year.
