Work ranges from demarc extensions to T1 installations, DSL installations and extensions, DBU (Dial Back-Up) installations, etc. Working with Cisco, Netopia, Juniper, and other 'Customer Premises Equipment'.
Required tools are as follows:
-A Working Vehicle
-Butt Set
-Laptop with Wifi, NIC, and serial port (USB<>DB9 Adapter will work.$40 at Best Buy)
-Line Testers
-Crimpers
-Cell Phone
-Access to a ladder (6+ feet)
-Tone Thrower/Toner Set
-Punchdown Tool with 66 and 110 block tips
-Etc
Knowledge with various types of hardware is helpful; Cisco, Netopia, Juniper, etc.
Again, this is a 1099 based contracted position, ideal for self-employed individuals in the telecommunications field.
