WANTED – YOUNG, SUCCESSFUL BLACKS TO BE SURVEYED FOR UPCOMING BOOK PROJECT
Author and award winning motivational speaker Brian McClellan is writing an as yet untitled book about race and success to be released in 2009.The book will be an inspirational book, a “love letter to Black people,” that explores the mindset that drives the success of young, successful Black people in today’s “post-civil rights era.”To learn more about Brian or his work, please visit www.bamstrong.com.
We would like to survey as many young, successful Black people as possible in support of this project.Respondents must be willing to be quoted or potentially featured in McClellan’s upcoming book.The people we would like to survey will fit all of these criteria.
•Black – Those surveyed will identify as African-American.They will feel the phrase “Black people” describes them.
•Young – Those surveyed will be in their 40s or younger.We particularly interested people who are products of the “post-Civil rights” era, those who did not participate in or live through the Civil Rights movement of the 1960s.
•Successful – Those surveyed will be successful.We define “successful” as someone who is already accomplished in some regard (academic achievement, career achievement).More importantly, “successful” people, as we have defined them, are those who believe themselves to be upwardly mobile in their careers and lives, those who believe they will be even more accomplished, more successful “tomorrow” than they are today.
•Not a Celebrity – Those surveyed will not be famous.This book will be written about and for the 99+ percent of Blacks who are not famous.
•Willing to Help – Those surveyed will be willing to share their opinions for the benefit of others Blacks seeking success.We are also looking for people willing to be quoted (at least anonymously) or possibly featured in the book.
