Our growth is your opportunity. Job Purpose Ensures quality control over our biological waste water system and compliance with State EPD (Environmental Protection Division) regulatory requirements. Job Requirements & Qualifications: •No previous experience required.Must be fluent in English comprehension, reading, & writing & able to pass State of GA written waste water test. •Experience with pumps, valves, and irrigation systems. •Must be able to drive a tractor or ability to learn (good driving record and valid GA drivers license required) •Strong mechanical knowledge and experience required Job Functions: •Monitors analytical laboratory equipment and machinery. (meters, kits, etc.) •Monitors mechanical waste water equipment such as pumps, motors, electrical, etc. •Measures and monitors waste water chemicals such as magnesium hydroxide, polymer and caustics (i.e. washing soaps, etc.) •Performs tests and analysis utilizing laboratory procedures such as PH, DO (dissolved oxygen), TKN (total kjeldahl nitrogen), chlorine, ammonia, nitrates, water temperature, etc. •Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as adjusting belts, replacing belts, changing oils in pumps, changing probes on laboratory equipment, etc. •Operates pumps, dewatering equipment (tanker), compressors and chemical feed equipment. •Performs cleanup and housekeeping tasks for work area, tools, equipment, facilities, and grounds. •Performs other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the Environmental Manager, Outside Service Manager, or other company managers. Physical Requirements: •Frequently lifts up to 50 lbs. (daily) •Walks in an outside environment (including inclement weather conditions) on a daily basis.Distance can range from 1 to several miles per day. •Frequently stoops, kneels, crawls, and bends. •Must have good visual skills including the ability to see and distinguish colors. Frequently uses visual skills to inspect lagoons, ponds, and other bodies of waters for moving objects and clarity. Also, uses visual skills to read tools such as microscopes. •Climbs stairs daily and occasionally climbs ladders.Must have the ability to work in high altitudes and elevated areas. (daily) •Constantly subject to extremely wet and cold environments as well as wet and hot environments. •Frequently talks and receives auditory information.Listens to pumps, motors, sounds, and noises to troubleshoot mechanical problems with waste water equipment. •Frequently uses both hands and fine finger/hand manipulation skills to perform laboratory procedures such as mixing reagents with chemicals and lab, adjust laboratory equipment, etc. •Frequently works in an environment with strong, foul odors.Must use smelling senses to distinguish irregular odors. •Frequently enters confined space areas. •Frequently works around loud equipment requiring ear protection.
