OK, so this week my cat came home with a baby bunny. my 3 year old followed him up the bank with the bunny and was in awe. i seen "she" was hurt but didnt want the cat to finish the job in front of my son so i shooed the cat away, picked up the bunny baby and brought it inside. i then put it in a shoe box and set it on the table thinking of a way to dispose of it when it died. she then jumped and sat up!! so i took her to the garage and put her in a large tupperware container and figured she would die over night. well a few hours later she was moving from one side to the other in the box so i added some grass and a dish of water and a baby blanket sure she would pass overnight. well, she didnt. instead she began getting better. i added cedar chips, a new recieving blanket, some new grass and water and a cut up cucumber. i knew she was hurt, but it was looking like it wasnt fatal. then i found a sibling dead in the yard. :( well now, 4 days later, she is eating, drinking, and going potty and hopping around in the box. she will let you pet her ears and head but gets spooked easily. i cannot bring myself to release this baby in the yard as i know she would become dinner to either my cat...again...or some other animal, or simply not make it because she is so small. i am hoping that i can find someone that maybe has a hutch with bunnies or something to take her as i think she will make a full recovery and seems to have already. i am scared someone will forget to close the garage door and the cats may get to her again. i dont have the money to invest in raising this little bunny but i dont want to see her die. please, if anyone can help me let me know!!! she is about palm sized, eating food and drinking water, and all brown like a wild rabbit. thank you so much in advance!
